Fifty Sense Seal of Approval

We reviewed a variety of products from Turtle Fur. This company was started in the heart of the Green Mountains of Vermont. Their goal is to craft softness and warmth to fend off the foes of winter. They hold true to the roots of creativity, innovations, quality, community, and respect for the planet… all while having fun. Most people who like winter sports are familiar with the brand, but may not be familiar with the variety of products.

We have listed below the products we reviewed and a description of the product. We were surprised at the wide variety of products to help us enjoy the cold weather. The web site is set up a little different.

Micro Fur Neck

This is the original product from Turtle Fur. It is made from Technofleece, which is advanced performance fabrics. This means it has a high heat insulation value, a special finish the controls pilling, has abrasion resistance, it is much warmer than other fabrics having the same weight, and the fabric construction means garments stretch naturally for optimum comfort. It is breathable, machine washable and quick drying.

Micro Fur Tube

This tube is an extra-long neck warmer with Technofleece, which can be used in a variety of ways. It can be used as a neck warmer, headband, or as a hood. It is wonderfully soft, with only one seam.

Silver Frost Beanie

Silver is a powerful, natural anti-microbial and anti-odor. When partnered with fabric it forms a high performance, state of the art, next to skin product. This lightweight beanie has Visa, endurance Dryline that is made of microfiber polyester that has been embedded with silver ions which prevent growth of bacteria. No bacteria means no smell!

Bolivian Charanzani

This great fashion beanie is made with 100% Alpaca and lined with lightweight fleece. The Moss color is a mixture of colors that make it easier to match to jackets.

Totally Tubular

This is part of the Black Turtle collection. They claim that it is one part inspiration, two parts of possibility, a tough of imagination, a dash of perspiration, stir and serve cold! This piece is made with their Comfort Shell performance, is high wicking and brushed on the inside for comfort fabric. It can be used as a headscarf, pirate beanie, balaclava, or headband. We feel this is great not only for winter sports, but for backpacking cool days and nights.

Aerolated Mesh Top Comfort Shell Shellaclava

This is wonderful for those that wear helmets when doing outdoor winter activities. In really cold weather, this can give extra warmth under a hat. If it is warmer, the hood can be worn down. The mesh hood allows excess heat and moisture to evaporate. It is antimicrobial, dries quickly and is lightweight. The low bulk neck area fits well under jackets, is a double-layer neck for warmth and comfort. The trapped air between the layers provides extra insulation and it stretches easily to fit over the head. It contains Spandex for good stretch and recovery.

Vermonter Earflap Ashanti- Midnight

We love this high fashion earflapped hat that multicolor for easy matching to your jackets. It is made from handcrafted wool for warmth and style, and lined with Turtle Fur for comfort. Our tester that is very allergic to wool had no problems wearing it.
