HEALTH

There are many websites that contain information about general health and fitness for all ages. There are also many that seem to provide general health advice for the age-advantaged - namely, age fifty and beyond. This website and this section will focus on health and fitness topics directly related to having successful and enjoyable experiences in human-powered outdoor activities. The key concept is to think of yourself as evolving, rather than aging. That opens many avenues previously thought to be unavailable and out of reach. Sure, you may not be able to do what you could do 30 years ago but does that mean you shouldn't try something new? Of course not.

We'll explore the importance of strengthening our core muscles, weight training when necessary, restoring our flexibility, diet, increasing endurance, and improving balance for improved performance. The goal isn't to make everyone an "extreme jock" but everyone deserves the opportunity to expand their experiences with comfort and confidence. We will demonstrate that anyone can actively participate in any number of outdoor activities without prior knowledge or expertise. In other words, it's never too late to try something new as long as it's done with common sense. Or, in this case, fiftysense!

We hope you not only learn something new, but will also share your experiences with us. Send in your health experiences and reviews and share them others! Send us an email with your experiences, reviews, comments or suggestions, or if you cannot find what you are looking for, Email Us. If you add to our knowledge by sending us pictures, your story, information, and/or product reviews, you may even be selected for our weekly feature!
