Review: Mountain Khakis Outdoor Apparel
Started in 2003, Mountain Khakis has a great philosophy. They base their clothing on design, quality, and authenticity. They are committed to creating “the best-fitting, best-looking, best damn 'hips-down' apparel on the planet.”
The casual comfort meets rugged mountain style and the woman reviewer loved that the fit is for the real woman. We found them fashionable, comfortable yet plenty durable for long days on the ranch and in the river - and plenty good-lookin' for long nights on the town.
These fall under out adventure travel category. The Teton Twill Shorts from Mountain Khaki are tough just like their iconic pants yet look good with a nice Oxford twill button up. They performed admirably in a long 18-mile trek over root and rocks. Over the next few days, we wore them on the golf course, dancing to blue grass and sitting on a bench watching the fish in an artesian fed trout stream. Yes folks, this is what life is all about. Just relax and be comfortable.
What a great casual shirt to make you feel good about the coming spring. As winter and fall flannels were going back in for a summer slumber out comes the Oxbow Short Sleeve. We got our hands on the color called “Sunlit Multi” and it is vibrant. The color choices guarantee there is something for everyone’s style. It is one of the easiest choices to make when choosing a shirt to spend the afternoon grilling, hiking or taking in a play in the park.
This cargo-style pant is appropriate for almost any adventure setting but they truly are remarkable in wet conditions. The proprietary 6.3 oz brushed nylon is treated with Scotchgard™ for long lasting stain repellence and moisture-wicking properties. Speaking of long-lasting, they are rated at UV50+ to allow you to stay outdoors as long as you want. In addition to the technical qualities, these pants are cleanly and practically designed with a flat front and zip pocket in the rear.
The cargo pocket also has a hidden zip security pocket on the thigh which is great for securing keys and other valuables during those active adventures. The waistband is reinforced with triple stitching so not elastic. The heel cuffs are reinforced so they won’t fray as quickly as some. Altogether there’s 5 hand pockets – plenty for stashing all your stuff. And for our demographic especially, they have a mid-rise, relaxed fit which I find very comfortable.
These 100% Nylon shorts are just what you need for the warm months ahead and throughout the year whether in equatorial climes or not. That means both style and performance for all your adventures. The super high-density weave is 80/20 DWR (meaning it retains 80% water-repellency after 20 washings), UVA-UVB-resistant, quick-dry, lightweight and packable. Just what you need for versatility while travelling.
A total of 6 pockets with mesh bags, nicely angled rear pockets for style, including 2 zip security pockets. Inseam action gusset. I found the 11’ rise and relaxed fit to be quite comfortable in all situations from walking to biking or just hanging out.
The Oxbow collection is the foundation of Mountain Khakis Women’s MountainTops assortment. Lovely styling with princess seams and a slight gather at center-back hem. As I’ve gotten older, I only wear short sleeves, NO tank tops. But just because I want more coverage doesn’t mean that I want a warmer shirt. Airy and light with a scoop neck and short sleeves this is a great shirt to wear on those hot days. Great for travel! Medium size checked pattern draws your eyes to the shirt and gives it a mountain dress flair!
Alright ladies- here is a Capri that is just as rough and tumble as the lives we lead with a style we crave! The facts- lightweight, quick drying, UV50+ and the 6.3oz. brushed nylon is treated with Scotchgard for long-lasting stain repellence and moisture wicking properties. Can you think of anything missing here? We can’t!
And forget the mom pant! They have a fixed waist- no elastic, and a contoured waistband with an asymmetric side seam that is SO flattering! The angled handpockets lay flat against the waist. Relaxed fit with a contemporary rise.

Women's Guru Organic Zip Hoodie
Sometimes you want the comfort of a hoodie, but also want to feel a little more stylish. We love being women and supporting breast cancer events, but aren't personally "pink" personalities. We tested the black with pink design and were complimented at these events. What a great idea to put a beautiful design on a hoodie. We also love the earth color with soft purple design.
It is made from 80% certified organic cotton/20% recycled polyester fleece, which makes it perfect weight for year-round casual wear and goes perfectly with their high quality pants. It features a slightly-tapered side seam for a contemporary, flattering fit. We love the pockets.
We tested the enhanced, new fit on the cargo capri. Our reviewed was recovering from knee surgery so she was looking for something to wear in the summer besides shorts. We found the 8.5oz Cotton Twill moves with your body, and breathes with the wind.
