Review: BIG SKY INTERNATIONAL

Fifty Sense Seal of Approval

EVOLUTION 2P

I tested the Big Sky International Evolution 2 person 3 season tent, and absolutely loved it.

At the lightweight of under 3lbs including the fly, aluminum poles, stakes, and silnylon compression bag, it weighs in as the lightest tent we've tested.

Don't let the weight worry you about performance—I took it to Independence Lakes in Idaho where we encountered a serious wind and lightening storm. Even thought the tent itself is made of mesh, with the exception of the floorbed of course, the fly kept the wind out entirely. Since the fly does not actually touch the tent itself, the tent was waterproof, we stayed completely dry. I have never come through a storm of that magnitude so successfully.

It is extremely easy to set up and takes less than two minutes. It is a completely logical setup—I set it up without the directions from the very first time on.

It is quite roomy for a 2 person tent and slept two more than comfortably, with one of the persons being over 6'4"

Even though this tent is very lightweight, Big Sky does not skimp on the features. This tent has a window in the fly, 4 internal pockets, reinforcement clips on the fly, and stakes to increase the durabilty of the tent.

In addition to making this incredible tent, Big Sky International is doing there part to lessen their carbon footprint—all tent information documents and setup instructions are available only online.
